Our Support to the Missions 

“To go out and preach the gospel,” was Jesus commission to his disciples before he ascended into heaven; therefore, to evangelize has been and will always be among the most important church’s missions. Our spiritual and financial support to the missions are some of the ways that can help us to be part of Jesus’ commission to preach the gospel, thus gaining a blessing to us as we remember what Jesus says in the gospel of Matthew “what you did for others, you did it for me.”

Next weekend, Saturday and Sunday, 3 - 4 of August, our parish will be participating in the Mission Appeal Initiative organized by the Missionary Cooperative Plan of our Diocese. This year we are happy to welcome Fr. Andrew Siasa, from the Religious Community of the Holy Spirit Fathers the Diocese of Quilon, in the land of Tanzania. 

I want to invite you to do two things: First, to pray for Fr. Andrew and, the mission work of his religious community.  Prayer is one of the main ways to support the missions and the hard work that every missionary must endured. Second, to contribute, in any way you can, financially, to the work of Fr. Andrew’s Religious Community. Maybe through a small sacrifice, such as giving up a cup of coffee and giving the money to the missions.  Any contribution, large or small is a great blessing to the Missions.   May God bless you for your generous giving. 

The Importance of pray before and during Our Vacation Time. 

I come across, in social media, a suggested prayer before and during our vacation time.  It reads, “It is important to ask God for a holy, healthy and enjoyable time off.  Let’s thank God for our time off and the opportunity to enjoy the place that we are visiting.”

I personally think that taking time to pray the rosary, alone or with family, is one of the most practical way to pray during our vacation time.  It doesn’t take much of time. 

As we pray the Holy Rosary, we not only profess our faith, as we begin with the Apostle’s Creed, but we also ask our Blessed Mother to be with us in our journey. 
Please, DO NOT FORGET TO ATTEND HOLY MASS ON SUNDAYS.  With the use of internet we can easily locate the nearby Catholic church, but also the mass schedule.  

Be mindful and respectful of local communities traditions!
​Nuestro Apoyo a Las Misiones  

Predicar el evangelio a todas las naciones es mandato evangélico, de parte de Jesús y por lo tanto es una de las prioridades de la Iglesia.  Nuestro apoyo espiritual y financiero a las misiones es una de nuestra nobles obligaciones pastorales con las cual nos garantizamos una bendición de Dios para nosotros y los nuestros. 

El próximo fin de semana, los días sábado y domingo, 3 - 4 de agosto, nuestra comunidad parroquial participará en la Campaña Diocesana de las Misiones en la cual estará con nosotros el Padre Andrew Siasa, quien compartirá con nosotros su trabajo pastoral con los Padres del Espíritu Santo – en el bello territorio de Tanzania. 

Los invito a dos cosas,
​imero a orar por las misiones.  Orar es una forma de participar de la noble labor que cada misionero y misionera representa.  Segundo, que hagamos de manera personal, un sacrificio, a lo largo de esta semana, para que compartamos con las misiones los frutos de dicho sacrificio; por ejemplo, el dinero que iba a gastar en café, lo dedico para la misiones.  Cualquier contribución, es una gran bendición para la misiones.  Dios los bendiga por su generosidad! 

La Importancia de Orar
Antes y durante las Vacaciones

Entre las muchas cosas que ofrece las redes sociales, leí una publicación que me llamó mucho la atención, la importancia de Orar antes de irse, y durante las vacaciones, solos o con la familia. 

Decía la publicación: “Es importante que le pidamos a Dios por unas Santas Vacaciones en éste verano.  Que sea Dios quien siempre nos haga sentir su santa presencia durante nuestro descanso, así como en nuestra diversión.” 

En lo personal siempre he pensado que el rezo del Santo Rosario, es una de las oraciones más sencillas, pero a su vez de mucho valor para cada cristiano.  Al orar cada oración que hace parte del Santo Rosario, no sólo hacemos una profesión de fe, pero al igual, invocamos la protección de nuestra Madre Santísima, para que esté con nosotros a lo largo de nuestro viaje.
No olviden buscar, con anticipación, la iglesia más cercana para participar de la Santa Misa el domingo.  Al igual que usamos el internet para localizar cualquier restaurante o sitio de interés personal, también podamos buscar el horario de la Santa Misa en donde nos encontremos.
